Common Questions about New Hope

What should I expect on Sunday morning? (10-11:15AM)

We gather for worship each Sunday at 10:00AM. Our worship services are simple, reverent, and free. They are simple in that we do not rely on flash and high production. They are reverent in that they seek to draw us into the presence of Almighty God. They are free in that we strive to be a community where folks from all walks of life are welcomed and known.

We follow a similar liturgy each week. We begin with God calling us to worship from his Word, followed by singing, confession of sin, prayer, hearing the Bible taught through preaching, and being sent out with God’s blessing. We celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper twice a month on 2nd and 4th Sundays.

Our singing is congregational and led by a team of musicians. For an example of a typical order of worship, view a sample bulletin here.

Our services generally last about an hour and fifteen minutes, with some time afterwards to hang out and drink coffee.

Do you have childcare? What about my older kids?

We believe that the church is just like any other family in that it is made up of all different ages; we love and welcome having children of all ages and stages worshipping with us! Do your kids have the wiggles? That is okay — they are growing kids and we love having them with us!

To serve parents and children: we have both a Nursery (infant - 3 years) as well as a Kids’ Bible Class (4 years - 5th grade).

Nursery: we will offer nursery during the entirety of the service for children infant - 3 years old. Nursery is located in our church office (Suite 121). Nursery is staffed by two background-checked volunteers who are happy to care for your child during service. Parents: if you prefer to keep your child with you during service, this is welcome! Know that you may access the nursery at any time during the service (you’ll find toys, supplies, and a changing table).

Kids’ Bible Class: We offer a Kids’ Bible Class for children PreK - 5th grade. This class is led by a background-checked adult teacher and takes place during the sermon (25-30 minutes). To ensure there are always at least two background-checked adults with all children at all times, the Kids’ Bible Class will take place in the same location as nursery down the hall in our church office (Suite 121). This year, we will be using the Biggest Story Bible Storybook curriculum. You can learn about this curriculum here.

Where do you meet?

We meet at the Historic Broyhill Building in Clemmons, 3540 Clemmons Road, Clemmons, NC, near the intersection of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Highway 158.

When you walk in the front doors past the big columns, just head straight into the Auditorium. You can’t miss it! This front entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Our offices are located in the same building, Suite 121, a short walk from the Auditorium.

What do I wear?

This is a common question! You will find that people dress as they feel comfortable. There is a wide range of clothing, from dress shoes to tennis shoes and everything in between. Our desire is for people to come hear the good news of Jesus and experience the love of God, not to worry about what they may be wearing.

What kind of church is New Hope?

We are a Presbyterian church, which means we are led by elders who have been called by the congregation to pastorally care for and guide the church. More specifically, we are a church in the Presbyterian Church in America, otherwise known as the PCA. As a PCA church, our core values are being faithful to the Scriptures, true to the Reformed tradition, and obedient to the Great Commission. You can check out more about what we believe by looking at the PCA’s website or by reading through the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechism.

What other gatherings take place through the week?

Outside of Sunday worship, we have other opportunities to grow and connect. We have a Small Groups that meet together 2-3x a month for prayer, study, and support, a bi-monthly Ladies’ Bible Study on select Tuesdays, and occasional Youth Fellowships. In addition, we’ll often schedule Sunday lunches, weekend brunches, and other impromptu gatherings. Contact Ben at ben@newhopepca.org for more details.

I have more questions. Where do I go to ask?
