Student Ministry

  Welcome to the student community of New Hope!  My name is Clay Walkup.  My wife, Rhoda, and I have been at New Hope since July ‘09.  As Associate Pastor for Youth and Families, I hope to see New Hope continue in their vision of building up a community of middle school and high school students that are led to grow toward God together.  Our student community at New Hope is backed by a group of leaders and volunteers from New Hope that are committed to disciple our students through our Sunday School Program, Youth Group meetings, Community Service, and Missions Projects.  

We envision the youth ministry of New Hope being a place of vibrant life with God, where students can be connected to God and each other, and that they would be encouraged by honest examples of believers who are further in life and faith with God.  

We believe that living in the gospel means we seek to identify the gifts that God has given us, and to be challenged to use these gifts to transform the world around us.  Students are encouraged to move toward leadership and service opportunities throughout New Hope.  

Our middle school and high school Sunday School classes meet separately after a fellowship time that begins at 9:15 on Sunday mornings.  If you are in middle school, make sure to join us on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30pm here at New Hope for our youth group meetings.  The high school group meets together on Sunday nights from 6:30-8:30pm.  Pray for the students of New Hope and the larger Clemmons community!
