Nursery
We know the children are our future, and our goal is to love and train
them in the deep biblical truth that "the only thing that counts
is faith expressing itself in love." (Galatians 5:6) But they
first need to know the power of the gospel in their own lives. So we
put together plans and activities to give them opportunities to
encounter Christ and to make his presence real in their own lives.
The New Hope Nursery has two rooms to serve babies and toddlers up to
the age of three:
-
Infants (newborns and crawlers) - This room accommodates
nursing moms too.
-
Toddlers - This room is designated for walkers or those moving
at such a pace to be unsafe for newborns.
The nursery committee consists of Chris Stiling, Aubrey Wendelboe,
and Melanie Ciesielski. If you have any suggestions or questions,
please email Chris.

About the Volunteers
A Nursery Coordinator oversees both nurseries during the Sunday school
and the Worship service. In addition, volunteers from the congregation
(a combination of adults and youth) help. Every effort is made to keep
the ratio of one adult to every six children, and one adult to every
four infants.
All coordinators have current CPR/First Aid Training. What's more, all
nursery workers are required to attend a New Hope training session on
Policies and Procedures and must supply information to complete a DSS
background check before working in the nursery. We want to make sure
your child is safe and secure!

Illness Guidelines
To keep every child well whenever possible, we ask all parents to keep
their children out of the nursery if any of the following conditions
exist:
- Fever above 100 degrees (in the past 24 hours)
- Vomiting/Diarrhea (in the past 24 hours)
- Discharge in or around the eyes
- Excessive drainage or coughing
- Questionable rash
- Any communicable disease
If your child is being treated with an antibiotic, s/he should wait
at least 24 hours before coming into the nursery. Thanks for helping
us keep everyone as healthy as possible.
If your child becomes ill while in the nursery, we will notify you
immediately.

Security
We have a two-part security label system to make sure your child is
as protected as humanly possible. Here's how it works:
-
Each parent fills out information for the nursery registration.
-
A security tag with your child's name and a number will be
attached to his/her back.
-
Each parent will take the second section of the security tag
(lanyard) with the corresponding number. This needs to be returned
to the nursery when you pick up your child.
NOTE: Your child can ONLY be released to an adult with the
corresponding security number. The tags are to be used during all
church functions.

Drop Off
To help the children have an easier separation experience, we ask
that instead of walking your newborn/toddler into the nursery room,
please leave your child with a nursery worker at the door. We have
found that this minimizes tears from your child, and reduces confusion
in the room. Please be sure you leave clearly labeled diaper bag,
juice/snacks, special instructions, and a security bracelet with a
nursery worker!
