Children's Ministry New Hope Children's Ministry and NurseryWe hope our children's programs will encourage you as you seek to ‘train up your children in the way they should go.' God repeatedly covenanted with the Israelites: "I will be your God and you will be my people." Our children's program strives to teach our younger ones who God is and what it means to be His people. In the same way that God goes to great lengths to pursue us, we strive to study well and teach our children hoe to turn their hearts toward Jesus, their only Savior. OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL HOUR 9:15-10:15-Children from 3 years through third grade meet in the kindergarten/first grade classroom at 9:15. They have a group opening time after which they move to their respective classrooms at 9:30. Teachers work to transition the children between rooms so parents are free to go directly to adult Christian education at 9:15. -Fourth and fifth grader children go directly to their classroom upstairs at 9:15 to begin their class time. THE WORSHIP HOURAfter families worship together for a portion of the service, children from 3 years old through third grade are dismissed to attend classes of their own. Of course, any child may remain in the worship service if the family chooses to worship together.
OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INFORMATION-For children ages 3 through third grade. We love to pray for children on their birthdays and recognize God's role in their lives. If you choose to, you can send one coin for each year old your child is. These coins go in a globe shaped ‘birthday bank.' The intent is to verbalize that while we are so blessed at this time, we can remember children whose birthdays pass unrecognized. The funds are given towards a special need of one of our missionaries. -We sponsor an adopted child through Compassion. To help this support, children can bring aluminum cans to church to recycle. Periodically during the year, we have children help stomp the cans to reduce their size. The children have opportunities to correspond with Wilbur and to hear his correspondence in return. Cans are left beside the McKenzie' scar or in the stairwell of the church. Of course, your child can crush the cans at his/ her home as well! -Clemmons Food Pantry. We Challenge you to try something very difficult. Bring one food item to church each week and place it in the box at New Hope designated for the Clemmons Food Pantry. I am trying this with our family. During the week, I purchase something and I place it a special spot at home. I have asked one of my children to be responsible to bring the items to church each week. Remembering to do this is much harder than it seems. It shows me how consumed I am with my busyness and how I have to train my thoughts to care for others. But it is a great conversation building tool in our household. NURSERY
Welcome to New Hope Nursery! Our purpose is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the youngest members of our Covenant family. In caring for your young ones, we hope to offer a means of ministry to the children and their families as well as provide opportunities for Church members and regular attendees to minister and serve.
The New Hope Nursery serves children up to age three and is overseen by a Nursery Coordinator during both Sunday school and Worship hours. Our volunteers consist of parents, youth, and other members and regular attendees of our church family. Every effort is made to keep the ratio of one adult to every six children, and one adult to every four infants. All nursery workers serving in the nursery have participated in a training session on our Policies and Procedures and supplied information to complete a DSS background check before working in the nursery.
